ORIGINS ~ The Backstory

ORIGINS is perhaps the most personal thing we have ever shared.

Filmed in one sitting and beautifully guided by our wonderful friend and interviewer, Paul Andreas, it is an intimate conversation lasting almost five hours, which we have divided into six episodes.

It takes us back through the lives we lived long before La Buslière came along - and into parts of our past that have inevitably shaped the people we are today.

It is honest, emotional and, at times, incredibly raw. We talk openly about dysfunctional families, troubled school years, ADHD, sexual abuse, violence, struggles with sexuality, drug and alcohol abuse, rehabilitation, and the counselling and psychotherapy that helped us make sense of much of what had gone before.

There is laughter too. And love. And plenty of moments that remind us that even the more difficult chapters of our lives are only part of the story.

ORIGINS doesn’t bring our story all the way to France. There was simply too much to tell.

Our story helping to rebuild another

We made the decision to keep ORIGINS as an exclusive series available through our Buy Me a Coffee shop, with proceeds helping to fund the continuing restoration of La Buslière.

There is something rather fitting about that for us.

These six episodes tell the story of two lives that, at various times, needed a fair bit of rebuilding themselves. Today, sharing that story is helping us breathe life back into a little French village that had also been through some difficult years of its own.

So, by watching ORIGINS, you’re not only discovering the story behind the two people you see today - you’re also directly helping us write the next chapter of La Buslière.
