Painted portrait of Marlon and Maisel wearing velvet capes, sitting at the feet of two men in formal dress
The Bosses, as they undoubtedly see themselves.

Brother and sister, born in 2022, they have grown up surrounded by stone walls, scaffolding, timber, lime mortar and the general chaos that comes with bringing an abandoned French village back to life.

They take their supervisory roles extremely seriously.

No job is too big to inspect, no freshly cleared area too inconvenient to occupy, and no camera shot so important that it couldn’t be improved by the sudden appearance of a cat.

Marlon and Maisel are wonderfully sociable and particularly enjoy meeting the guests who come to stay at the village. They have also become very familiar faces on our YouTube channel, where they regularly insist that whatever restoration work we thought we were filming is considerably less interesting than they are.

And, judging by the reaction they receive from our subscribers, they may have a point.

They are adorable, occasionally disruptive, frequently hilarious and very much part of life here at La Buslière.

We may have bought the village.

But there is absolutely no doubt about who owns it.
